About six centuries ago, Sword Lake was named Luc Thuy Lake. But in the 15th century, the lake was renamed Hoan Kiem Lake, associated with the legend of King Le Loi to pay the sword. The story about the Minh invaders in our country, Le Loi king fight troops, then the goddess god Kim Quy donated to the sword.
